Recently, Billie was recruited by Calvin Klein for a new campaign entitled “I Speak My Truth In #MyCalvins," In the new advertisement, Calvin Klein uploaded a video where Billie finally answers the question everyone has been wondering.
So what's the reason? Why does Billie constantly wear baggy clothes? Well, in the ad she explained that when she wears oversized clothing, people can’t make assumptions about her appearance since her body is hidden. "Nobody can have an opinion because they haven't seen what's underneath." This quote said by Billie was very powerful, and she won the hearts of many when she revealed her truth.
In a follow up interview, Billie said "If I was a guy, nobody would bat an eye. There's people out there saying 'Dress like a girl for once! Wear tight clothes you'd be much prettier and your career would be so much better! No it wouldn't. It literally would not." People nowadays judge so easily as well as have opinions about everything in media. Women are still constantly objectified today, it restricts women like Billie to wear in any type of clothing without getting body-shamed. In society today, women are called to be "too revealing" and many people comment on women's bodies when given the chance.

I totally agree with you. Because of the society we live in today, women are sexualized no matter what they do or wear. The topic of clothing is always going to be harder for women, who are expected to wear things a certain way or present themselves to be as feminine as they can be. Billie deciding to give herself room to breathe by not showing off her body too much is a smart move. Critics can't touch her because they have nothing to judge her from in the first place other than her music, face, and personality. Since Billie has such a big influence on her fans, revealing this method could strike a movement for women around the world. I think its a smart way to combat the media’s hostility and judgement. And maybe, just maybe, there will be a time where the media won’t destroy an individual’s confidence in self-expression.

I don't feel comfortable wearing super tight clothes without noticing people looking at me. Wearing a certain piece or certain types of clothes is now a big problem in our society. Billie Eilish not caring about what she wears is truly inspiring.

To be honest, Billie Eilish is one my favourite artists. She's so young but yet so wise. I like her thinking because she doesn't care about what she wears and what people think of her. Most women today are insecure about their bodies and their appearance because of the judgement of others. The type of clothes that you wear seem to be a major problem in our society today and there will always be people who will judge you based on that. For instance, a girl could be wearing a short dress and someone would just randomly comment and says "Oh, too much skin." or "Hey, that's too revealing." Billie Eilish is smart for wearing such baggy clothes to cover up her skin so that nobody would judge her body.
